But he was at that awkward transitional stage where he hadn't quite become the gorgeous creature we know and love, so his face hadn't got there yet either.
Hmmm, he has his moments, I'd say. :-) But I do think he got more attractive once all the bones weren't poking out quite so sharply anymore. And, yeah, lost the 80s hair. (Jin's hair also doesn't seem to like treatment in general. When it goes bad, it goes bad, and kinda dead-looking. And yes, every now and then I still marvel that I ended up having opinions about people's split ends.)
It creeps me out a little that one of them calls him "Ryu-chan", actually, because that then brings to mind all sorts of terrible possibilities as to what Ryu's other duties are, and why they really don't want to let him go, and I don't want to go there.
Clearly, you are a better person than... well. *g* Okay, no, I actually agree that the vibes are there but nothing really happened, and I'm glad for it; but the reason it's effectively creepy, IMO, is that Ryu definitely has a playing-with-fire side to him. I wouldn't say actively self-destructive, but I think he likes sharp edges, and I think his delinquent-ness is a bit more fucked up than Hayato's that way. I'm glad he came to his senses there, but I find it telling he ended up in a place like that, and especially after falling out with Hayato.
