But I do think he got more attractive once all the bones weren't poking out quite so sharply anymore.
Yes, that's it exactly. Nobuta!Kame and Gokusen!Jin are such skinny little creatures, all angular and breakable-looking, not like their current comfortable selves. And as for Jin's hair...it's probably a good thing he never does much with it. I like the style he usually sticks with, and when he pins it up in a bun or ties it back in a little ponytail. Hey, it looks good, I'm not complaining.
I'm glad he came to his senses there, but I find it telling he ended up in a place like that, and especially after falling out with Hayato.
Agreed. Ryu's got more to rebel against, I think, and his father's class and position don't help matters. Being a bad boy doesn't push it quite far enough, he has to take it further, put himself in harm's way and see what he can get out of it. Ryu's clearly ahead of Hayato in the emotional maturity stakes or Take would never have gone to him for help in the first place, so after falling out with Hayato over something that is essentially pointless and juvenile - Hayato might be in it for the pride of 3-D, but Ryu isn't - it makes sense that he'd go in the other direction, find a more adult danger to play with.
