Hayato probably annoyed me a bit first time round as well, but I had no real idea who Jin was at the time and had not yet developed a planet-sized crush on him, so... I just wanted them to have different reasons for not trusting teachers rather than parroting the same things over and over again, but I quickly learned that Gokusen and originality have nothing to do with each other. This is the first rewatch for me, so now I get to enjoy all the things I didn't notice before! ^_^
Take's mom?
I love that about j-drama delinquents. It's okay to be a jerk to your own family, but to your friends' parents? Gotta be nice, polite, respectful etc. So it makes sense, but Hayato was really reaching with his explanation. (And c'mon, with the amount of make-up he was wearing that episode, being "badass" is probably the least of his worries!)
I always thought Take had a little crush on Ryu on the one hand but was a serious HayaRyu shipper on the other.
I'm inclined to agree. Sure, it's hard not to crush on Ryu, but Take and those looks, and ambushing him on his way home, and all the angst, and how he turned to Ryu with his problem... I think everyone in the whole damned show ships them, actually - if only because life is marginally more peaceful when they're not feuding! ;-)
